Q: The GX/WX fan has just been fitted, the power to the fan is on but the shutters are not opening

A: This is because the newer fans are fitted with wax actuators which are slow opening so therefore, you will need to run the fan for up to 3 minutes before the shutters open. This replaced the previous shutter operator which was a solenoid that opened the shutters immediately.

Q: Why is my humidistat fan switching on randomly?

A: Humidistat fans detect a rise in moisture to protect the room from mould and condensation. At night time when temperature drops humidity rises causing the fan to switch on. This is not a fault as it is a functionality of the fan. A: A decibel is a measurement of noise. This denotes how noisy a fan would run.

Q: What happens when I pull the pull cord on a CF20 & CF40 fan?

A: When you operate the pull cord the fan goes into boost mode, which helps to clear the room quicker. When the appropriate level of humidity has been reached the fan will automatically revert back to its normal operation.

Q: How does heat recovery work?

A: Heat recovery is a ventilation system that removes moist warm air from such areas as bathrooms and kitchens, this warmth of the exhaust air is used to heat the fresh intake air from outside the property and supplied to the such areas as the bedrooms and living rooms. This achieved by the use of a cross over cell / heat exchanger.


Q: How do you duct a heat recovery system?

A: Heat recovery systems should be installed with rigid ducting and is normal hidden within the property. It is therefore essential that the ducting runs and integrity of ducting is understood before first fix installation.
